Rev. Uri Brito brings this to my attention this evening. Some in the church say that homosexuality is “the sin” of this generation and is the one we really need to fight.
Without getting into all that is wrong with that idea (which i read from Sproul Jr. who was quoting Desiring God Ministries) , this thinking is distracting us from real evil and injustice. Sexual abuse must be confronted and done away with in the church before we can really offer the transforming and restoring power of the Gospel to our world. If we believe the gospel like we say we do, then let us obey it and trust that our great King is also the great Counselor who can heal even the deepest and most heinous of injuries.
